Green Bean Casserole

Green Bean Casserole is one of our favorite holiday recipes.

I know, I know, everyone has a Green Bean Casserole recipe. Well, we absolutely love ours. It has pretty much the same ingredients as everyone else’s, but I put ours together a little differently, which makes it taste a little different.

The only other types of Green Bean Casseroles I have eaten have much of the most flavorful items, the crunchy onion rings, on top, if they use them at all. For our version, I mix the onion rings right into the beans and soup. It gives it a great flavor and a little crunch in each bite.

Several times I planned our holiday meals without Green Bean Casserole, but my family wouldn’t hear of it. They insisted on having it, so it is a traditional part of our holiday food. I have to admit, I would be disappointed if we didn’t include Green Bean Casserole on the menu.

Our Green Bean Casserole is so easy to make that I sometimes take it to potluck dinners held on weeknight evenings because I can make it fast and get to the dinner on time. And I have never had any to bring back home with us. And if I check my family’s plates, I know they will have a helping of it. That says a lot!
